October 31st, 1517

It was the last day of October, 500 years ago, when Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the church door in Wittenberg. Although written in Latin, and designed for scholarly debate, the theses were soon translated into many different languages and with the recent invention of the printing press, it wasn’t long before all Germany knew about this radical monk’s radical ideas. Western Civilization and the world would never be the same.
