Build Log: Seaside Fort

I’ve been meaning to build an 18th century fort for over a year now.  Finally got my life together and did it.

Read on for a walk through four days of building!

Day 1 and some color choices.  Green under the blue?  Easy and looks good too.  How about light yellow for sand?  Done!  And am I crazy enough to go for slanting walls?  I am.

Apparently if you slant the front wall you kind of have to slant the next wall.  Fun fun fun.

Day 2 and more water, more slanted walls.  But so far, so good.

Day 3 is the fun part, where the walls meet the system.  The solution?  Don’t attach the next layer.  The problem?  It moves around…

Day 4 brings us to the final result.  And I finally put my brick separators to some use!

The LEGO savvy will wonder where I got the greencoat torsos.  I made them myself… in GIMP.

Some of my builds are meant strictly for one angle.  But this one is complete all the way around!

Yeah, I know, I’m always squeezing that cute rat into everything…

One last look from a new angle so you can get a fresh appreciation of the beautiful carrot colored roof.

More build logs?  You bet:

What do you think?
