I’ve wanted to build a MOC featuring Kai for a long time, and the recent LEGO Ideas contest gave me the incentive I needed!
I started off with the handles; after designing one, all I had to do was repeat that.
Next came the scenes. My favorite to build–and one of my favorite Kai scenes ever!–was the scene of Kai in the blacksmith shop, when he fails at making a good sword.
It took some trial and error to get the perspective right on each scene; it’s a unique blend of 2and 3D.
The final scroll is a little delicate, but it’s safe to carry around if you’re careful!
