The Filo Morado

Without doubt my largest ship ever, the Filo Morado sails the seven seas in style!  The smooth cut of the hull on front allows for swift sailing while her canvas catches the night breeze.

Building such a narrow hull required some special techniques, mostly brick bending, taking advantage of the tiny gaps left between 2×1 pieces when attached.  This allowed for a hull construction that was surprisingly stable and lightweight.

The ship was not based off any specific classification, so it’s not quite accurate, but it does have fairly extensive rigging.

The lantern design is one of my favorite details about this ship.  I hung five of them in different locations – spot them all!

The Captain eagerly awaits whatever lies beyond the horizon…

With all its guns, the Filo Morado is certainly well prepared for whatever it may encounter.

The cook cleans fish…

…while a captive enemy swabs the deck.

And before you know it, the tail end of the Filo Morado disappears over the horizon.
